5 Pesos English Series Ferdinand Marcos - Licaros


This Five Pesos banknote was issued by the Central Bank of the Philippines in 1949-1969. It was printed by Thomas De La Rue Company, Limited, London. The front of this note shows the portrait of Marcelo Del Pilar at the left side and Graciano Lopez Jaena at the right side. The back of this note shows the La Solaridad Newspaper. The color of the obverse is black overprint which was printed on a gold & yellow background.While the color of the reverse is gold.

It was signed by Ferdinand Marcos as President of the Philippines and G.S. Liccaros as Governor of the Central Bank. According to Guy N. Davis, in his book entitled: Collecting Banknotes of the Central Bank of the Philippines (1988), there were 15 Million notes printed. This note belongs to the Serial Numbers from ES 000,001- FG 1,000,000.
