REPLACEMENT NOTE - "STAR NOTE" |
These Ten Pesos banknotes were issued by the Central Bank of the Philippines
in 1949-1969. Those were printed by Thomas De La Rue Company, Limited,
London. The front of this note shows the portraits of Fathers Burgos,
Gomez and Zamora at the left side. The back of this note shows the
Urdaneta and Legazpi Monument, and the Philippine Flag. The color of
the obverse of this note is black which was printed on a light red &
tan background. While the reverse is brown in color.
It
was signed by Diosdado Macapagal as President of the Philippines and Andres V. Castillo as Governor of the Central Bank. According to Guy N.
Davis, in his book entitled: Collecting Banknotes of the Central Bank
of the Philippines (1988), there were 64.5 Million notes printed. This
note belongs to the Serial Numbers from BF 500,001- EF 1,000,000.
