1 Peso Pilipino Series Marcos-Calalang


This One Peso was issued by the Central Bank of the Philippines in 1969-1973. It was printed by Thomas De La Rue & Company, Limited, London. The front of this note shows the portrait of Jose Rizal at the left side. The back of this note shows the scene of Emilio Aguinaldo’s Independence Declaration on June 12, 1898. The color of this note is blue.

It was signed by Ferdinand Marcos as President of the Philippines and A.Calalang as Governor of the Central Bank. According to Guy N. Davis, in his book entitled: Collecting Banknotes of the Central Bank of the Philippines (1988), there were 169 Million notes printed. This note belongs to the Serial Numbers from A000001-GA1000000.
